Healing in Layers: A Forged in Faith Teaching with Jeannie Walker | Forged in Faith Ministries

Hello Beloveds,

When we talk about healing and deliverance, it’s important to remember—it doesn’t usually happen all at once. We are like onions, and God heals us in layers. Sometimes, He peels back the surfaces of pain first. Other times, He goes deeper, to touch wounds we didn’t even know were still there. Each layer reveals another place where His love, grace, and deliverance can reach us.

Many of us carry burdens we were never meant to carry—generational curses, traumas, soul wounds, strongholds, rejection, addictions, and old habits that seem impossible to break. But the truth is this: God delivers in steps, in His timing, and as we surrender layer after layer to Him.

Healing Happens in Layers

The psalmist cried out: ✝️“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3, NKJV)

Notice—it doesn’t say He ignores the wounds, it says He binds them up… That’s a process. Healing is God’s tender work, one heart cry after another, step by step, layer by layer.

When we seek deliverance from bondages and strongholds —whether that’s fear, shame, unforgiveness, anger, addiction, or patterns passed down through generations—we must remember: it is not by our might, but by His Spirit that helps us release all of those things that don’t serve us.

✝️“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts. (Zechariah 4:6, NKJV)

Surrender to God Instead of Seeking Man’s Solutions:

Too often, when life presses hard, we run first to others—friends, family, even to social media for some answers. But our true healing and breakthrough come only when we bring every burden before the Lord Jesus in prayer.

✝️🔥⚔️“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6–7, NKJV)

Healing and deliverance are not about finding quick fixes; they’re about trusting God with the process. As He peels back each layer, He strengthens us, transforms us, and makes us more like Christ.

Breaking Free in Jesus’ Name

When Jesus walked the earth, He cast out demons, healed the sick, and set the oppressed free. That same authority is available to us today through the power of His name and the blood He shed for our salvation from eternal death.

✝️🔥⚔️Ephesians 1:7 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”

✝️🔥⚔️Mark 16:17–18 (NKJV) (part of the Great Commission) “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

✝️🔥⚔️ MATTHEW 10:1 (NKJV) “And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.”

✝️🔥⚔️ “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36, NKJV)

Every chain—whether it’s trauma, a toxic mindset, or a generational stronghold—can be broken in the mighty name of Jesus!!! But it happens in God’s order, as we yield layer after layer unto Him. ✝️🙌🏼🫶🏼🔥♥️🙏🏼♥️🔥

A Powerful Warfare Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

In the mighty name of Jesus, I come before You today, surrendering every layer of pain, trauma, rejection, loss and bondage in my life. Lord Jesus, peel back the layers of fear, shame, bitterness, unforgiveness or brokenness that has kept me bound.

By the power of the shed blood of our Savior Jesus, I renounce every generational curse and stronghold that has tried to pass through my family bloodline. I declare that it is broken, null, and void in mighty name of Jesus!

I take authority over every spirit of heaviness, addiction, oppression, depression or torment, that has kept me bound and I command them to loose their holds and power of of my life and leave now in the name powerful name of Jesus Christ.

Holy Spirit, fill every place that was once broken with Your peace, joy, wisdom and strength. Cover me Father God with Your presence and heal me layer by layer, until I walk in the fullness of freedom You designed for me. I declare that I am free, I am whole, and I am restored in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen and Amen. ✝️🙌🏼🔥♥️🙏🏼♥️🔥🪽⚔️🩸🛡️👑🤗

Closing:

Beloved, healing is not always instant. But it is always certain in the hands of our loving Father God. Trust the process. Stay surrendered to the leading of the Holy Spirit. And remember: every layer peeled back is another step into your freedom from the chains of everything that has held you back in this life. Stay strong in your Faith of Christ Jesus and walk in His Word.
