Holding Steadfast in God’s Salvation

Hebrews 2:1-18

Forged in Faith Newsletter: Holding Steadfast in God’s Salvation

Hello Beloveds,

I’m so grateful to walk through Hebrews 2 with you, as this passage spoke deeply yo my heart. Here  we find a powerful reminder about the heart of our salvation. These verses encourage us to cling tightly to what we’ve been given through  Christ Jesus— through His Sacrifice on the cross we are blessed with  our salvation, our freedom, and our hope. All Glory to the Most High God our Father who is in Heaven.

In Hebrews 2:1, we’re urged to “give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.” I love how the writer doesn’t just suggest a casual look back at God’s word but calls us to an earnest, purposeful clinging. Why? Because in a world that’s constantly pulling us away, we need to be anchored in His Truth; the Word of God found in the Holy Bible. Our salvation is so precious; it’s something to hold close, not something we can afford to treat lightly.

This passage also draws us into a beautiful truth about Jesus’ role in our lives. Hebrews 2:9 tells us that Jesus was “made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.” Isn’t it amazing to think that Jesus willingly left His place of glory to walk in our shoes? He faced the same struggles, temptations, and pains we face—yet He was without sin. He did this so He could understand us completely and offer Himself as the ultimate sacrifice over sin and death in our place!

As Hebrews 2:14-15 explains, “Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” Through His sacrifice, Jesus defeated the enemy and freed us from the chains of fear, death and bondage. When we’re feeling lost, alone or fearful, we can hold onto this promise: we are no longer bound to our past sins or our pains of this life. He’s set us free.

In Hebrews 2:18, we see another comforting truth: “For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” Jesus knows what it feels like to struggle; He knows what it’s like to feel weak. Because He faced it all and overcame, He’s able to help us stand strong. He doesn’t just understand us from a distance—He’s right there with us in our midst, offering strength, wisdom, guidance and grace.

So let’s remember, dear friends, to hold steadfast to this precious gift of Salvation. God has given us something unshakeable in  Christ Jesus, and through Him, we are free, worthy, whole, and deeply loved. We are made for the Purpose of God and we are called to be Holy as He is Holy. We are chosen and set apart to be the Hands and Feet of Christ Jesus in all that we think, say and do. Stay strong in the Lord Jesus and in the Power of His might by placing the whole Armor of God in place upon yourselves from head to toe daily as Ephesians 6:10-20 reminds us. ⚔️🩸🛡️✝️🪽🔥♥️🙏🏼♥️🔥🙌🏼🌺🥰

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the precious gift of salvation that we have through the sacrifice on the cross of Christ Jesus. Help us to hold tight to Your word and to treasure the freedom and authority You’ve given us over the enemy. Remind us in our weakest moments that Jesus understands our every struggle and walks with us; for He promises to never leave us or forsake us!  May we never drift from You, Lord Jesus, but stay anchored in Your Word, love, Your protection and strong and bold in Your presence . In Jesus’ Holy and mighty  name we pray, Amen and Amen!!!

✝️🔥♥️🙏🏼♥️🔥🌺💪🏼✝️⚔️🩸🛡️ Stay strong in the Lord Jesus and in the power of His might! Remember, you matter, you are loved and you were made to make God famous! 🥰🫶🏼👑
