Protecting Ourselves and Our Children from Spiritual Dangers

Dear Beloveds,

I would like to share something important that’s been on my heart. There are spirits out there, often referred to as "familiar spirits," that can attach themselves to us from a young age. These spirits observe us—learning who we are, what we do, and the challenges we've faced. Without our awareness, they stick around, influencing our lives in subtle ways.

This is how psychics are often able to predict the future or tell people about their past with eerie accuracy. They're not pulling this knowledge from thin air or some mystical source. What they’re actually doing is communicating with these familiar spirits, better known as —demons that have been following people around their whole lives, gathering information. These spirits know our habits, our struggles, and our weaknesses. So when psychics summon them, it appears they have supernatural insight. But in reality, it’s these demonic forces that are behind the curtain, feeding them the information.

This is why we must be incredibly careful about what we allow ourselves—and especially our children—to be exposed to. What we listen to, what we watch, and engage with can open doors to these spirits. We live in a world where spiritual forces are at work, and many things that seem harmless on the surface could be gateways for these familiar spirits to gain influence and access over us and remain in our lives.

The Bible warns us about these things. In Leviticus 19:31, it says, “Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.” God takes this seriously because He knows the danger of allowing these spirits to infiltrate our lives. We must remain vigilant, guarding our hearts and minds, and keeping our homes—especially our children's hearts—safe from spiritual attacks.

Let’s be mindful of the music we listen to, the shows we watch, and the influences we allow into our lives. We must equip ourselves and our children with the Word of God, so we are not easily swayed by the enemy's tactics. As it says in Ephesians 6:12, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places." Our battle is spiritual, and we must stay grounded in God’s truth. Stay strong in the Lord your God and in the power of His might.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your protection of the precious shed blood of Jesus that abounds us and for Your guidance. We ask Lord Jesus, that You open our eyes to the spiritual battles around us. Help us guard our hearts, minds, souls, spirits and emotions and give us wisdom to discern what is from You and what is not. Protect our children from harmful influences, and give us the strength to lead them in Your ways. We trust You, Lord, to guide us and keep us under the shadow of Your wings. In Jesus’ Holy and Mighty name we pray, Amen and Amen!!
