Rising Above the Pain

Staying Tender in a Hard World

Forged in Faith Kingdom Strategies Newsletter: Rise Above the Pain – Stay Tender in a Hard World

Hello Brothers and Sisters,

If there’s one thing I could tell you today that might save you some time and heartache, it’s this: never let the things that happen to you turn you bitter. I know, life throws punches we don’t see coming. Pain, heartbreak, fear and loss have a way of sneaking in, taking root, and threatening to harden our hearts. But hear me—don’t allow it. Don’t let what was out of your hands turn your love cold.

The truth is, staying soft isn’t easy. The world around us screams at us to build walls, protect ourselves, and never let anyone in again. But God didn’t create you for bitterness; He created you for love, joy, and peace. Even in the midst of pain, you have the power to choose tenderness over resentment, healing over bitterness, and forgiveness over grudges.

“And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ Jesus forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32 NKJV)

Letting Go and Letting God

Holding onto the pain won’t change what happened, but it will and can change you if you let it. It can turn your heart into stone if you’re not careful. God invites us to bring our burdens to Him and release the weight of unforgiveness and bitterness.

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22 NKJV)

Let it hurt. Cry it out. Take it to God. But don’t let the pain linger and define who you are. You are so much more than what happened to you. You are who God says you are—redeemed, loved, and chosen.

Letting Pain Heal, Not Linger

Pain is real, and it’s okay to feel it. But here’s the thing—feeling the pain doesn’t mean staying there. God’s healing is greater than the hurt, if we surrender it to Him.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3 NKJV)

It’s a process, but every time you surrender your hurt to God, you’re choosing to let it heal instead of harden you. You’re choosing life, love, and hope over bitterness.

Remember Who You Are in Christ Jesus!

Don’t let someone’s actions or words define your worth. You are never how someone made you feel. You are who God says you are. He has placed strength, love, and resilience inside you. When you rise above the pain and refuse to let it change you negatively, you are stepping into the identity God gave you.

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:21 NKJV)

A Prayer for You

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being close to the brokenhearted and binding up our wounds. Help us to release the hurts we carry to You and not allow bitterness to take root in our hearts. Teach us to forgive as You have forgiven us and to rise above the pain with love, grace, and tenderness. Lord Jesus, remind us daily of who we are in You and strengthen us to walk in healing and hope. In Jesus’ holy and mighty name, we pray, Amen and Amen.

Beloveds, stay soft, stay tender, and rise. You are so much more than the pain. You are God’s masterpiece, and He is not finished with you yet. Stand boldly and courageously in Christ Jesus in every season of this life. In His Grace and Mercy,

With love and blessings,

Jeannie Walker
