When Pain Breaks Us, But God Restores
Rebuilding What Was Lost: Reigniting What Still Remains
Forged in Faith Ministries Newsletter: “When the Heart Breaks and the Soul Bleeds”
There are moments in life that don’t just hurt—they alter us. A piece of who we once were is left behind, and we feel the weight of what was lost. It’s not always something visible to others, but deep inside, we know the shift happened. We walked away, but we didn’t leave whole. A part of us stayed in that place of pain.
Have you ever felt like that? Like something in you was broken, shattered beyond repair? You carry on, you function, but the fire you once had feels dim, the vibrancy you once knew replaced by a lingering void. I know what that feels like. That day—the day something in you died—is a day that lingers, echoing in the corners of your heart. But let me tell you, as someone who has felt the emptiness: You may feel broken, but God is a master at rebuilding.
The truth is, we were never meant to carry this pain alone. When the psalmist cried, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3, NKJV), it wasn’t just a nice sentiment. It was a promise. A declaration that God sees the fractures in our hearts and knows how to piece us back together. It doesn’t mean the pain never existed, but it means we don’t have to live there.
Sometimes we don’t even realize that what “died” in us wasn’t just taken by the pain—it was a part of us that God intended to refine. The quiet flame left smoldering may feel weak, but God’s Word assures us: “A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench” (Isaiah 42:3, NKJV). That means even in our most fragile state, He doesn’t give up on us. The ember He ignited in us remains, waiting for His breath to reignite it. 🔥✝️👑
Yes, you may feel the void... That ache is real. But I want to encourage you—don’t let the enemy convince you that what’s missing defines you. The Word of God reminds us that “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10, NKJV). The enemy may have taken something from you, but Jesus came to restore. And when He restores, He doesn’t just give back what was lost; He gives you greater purpose, greater peace, and greater power, greater than what was lost.
When we surrender that void to God, He fills it with His presence. You may feel like the shadow of who you were, but “He gives beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” (Isaiah 61:3, NKJV). The loss, rejection or abandonment you experienced may have marked you, but it does not define you. God writes the final chapter. ✝️💪🏼⚔️🩸🛡️🔥♥️🙏🏼♥️🔥
Let this be a moment of decision. Will you allow the brokenness to speak louder than God’s promises? Or will you let the Author of life write a new chapter in your story over your pain? Remember, “The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such as have a contrite spirit” (Psalm 34:18, NKJV). His nearness in your brokenness is a gift, and His healing is a process that leads to wholeness, even when we can’t see it right away.
It’s time to take up your armor, beloved. What the enemy tried to destroy, God will use to strengthen you. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:10-11, NKJV). You are not defenseless. You are forged in faith, and God’s power is made perfect in your weakness.
A Warfare Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
I come to You today, raw and broken, feeling the weight of what has been lost. But I stand on Your promises, Lord Jesus, that You are the healer of the brokenhearted and the binder of wounds. I refuse to allow the enemy to define me by my pain. I declare in the name of Jesus that I am not destroyed—I am being restored.
Father God, I put on the whole armor of God today, standing firm against the lies of the enemy. I plead the blood of Jesus over my mind, my emotions, my heart, and my spirit. I reject the spirit of heaviness and declare that I will wear the garment of praise. 🙌🏼✝️👑 Lord Jesus, breathe new life into me where the flame has dimmed. Reignite my passion, my purpose, and my hope.
I declare that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment, I shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17, NKJV). I speak Your truth over my life: I am chosen, I am set apart, I am loved, and I am victorious in Christ Jesus. Heavenly Father, take what the enemy meant for harm and turn it for good. I surrender the pain, the void, and the brokenness to You. Fill me with Your peace, Your wisdom, Your strength, and Your presence. In Jesus holy and mighty name we pray, Amen and Amen! ✝️⚔️🩸🛡️🔥♥️🙏🏼♥️🔥👑🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
